Starbucks is not an accessory!

killthecardboardcup.com was created in response to the widespread use and abuse of disposable, non-recyclable coffee cups seen today. The world is shifting its focus towards sustainable thinking. People are moving away from bottled water and buying more fuel efficient cars. Recycling is now commonplace in most areas.

Corporate social responsiblity is becoming mainstream in the business world as people demand that the social and environmental consequences of business transactions are taken into account.

All of these efforts have been fantastic. When it comes to coffee and tea, people now see the value and importance of fair trade.

However, while people have been attacking the plastic bottle waste build up created by bottled water they have been ignoring the enormous impact of their disposable cardboard cups. Yes, bottled water is an environmental tragedy; however, those plastic bottles are recyclable while the plastic lined cardboard cups distributed to millions of consumers each year all end up in landfill.

killthecardboardcup.com hopes to provide facts and information concerning the cardboard cups distributed by most major coffee shops and hopes to offer solutions to concerned patrons and coffee shop owners.

Please sign the pledge to bring an end to the waste that cardboard cups are creating in out society today.
